Default Model 32

I ran across this on armslist. Thinking it was a 36, I emailed the guy. Turns out it's a 32 which I hadn't heard of. Are they good guns? Collectible at all?

The model 32 is a five shot using the 38 S&W cartridge.

The 38 S&W is not the same as the much more common 38 Special.

38 S&W ammo is available through mail order from lots of places. And sometimes you can find it in local stores around where I live.

They are good guns, and I'd like to have one, but finding ammo is a problem.

Also, if you do find ammo, most likely it would be round nose lead only.

Looks like it's in nice condition.

A S&W 32 (is there a - number after it) is a .38 S&W; a different cartridge from the .38 special. Decent self defense ammo, such as Buffalo Bore, can be had in that caliber. If priced right, one can afford $1.55 per round for the good ammo.

I had a 32-1 from the mid 1960's that I gave to my granddaughter. The gun in your photo appears to have been made 1968-1982, judging from the cylinder release and stocks.

Here is my old gun.

I had to add the pink stocks.

This is what you need.

Remington LRN and a BB SWC.

The above cartridges with a .38 special.

The model 32 was known as the Terrier prior to the numbering system. Nice shooting little revolvers, just limited in available choices of ammo.

It's mine now. I don't think it's ever been fired. I got the 32 and $150 for a Stainless 357 Blackhawk. I think I did well.

It's a J frame. I had one several years ago that I traded away. Still have a box of ammo for it. Nobody I know has anything chambered for that round.

I have one from 1966 and it's a great shooting pistol. Fiocchi makes 38 S&W FMJ and it's great stuff. I reload for mine.

I would think with the serial number you provided that it was made around 1971-72. I have a model 33 serial number R47xxx made in August of 1971.

I bought a box of shells for it. Don't know if I'll shoot it. I'm 99.9% sure it's ubfired after all these years.

Well friend, my granddaughter's eyes were three years old when I bought those stocks and she thought it was BEAUTIFUL!

This is my granddaughter's idea of what my golf cart should look like.
