My first thought was that it is a Model 27-2, instead of a K-22. However, in this picture I believe I can see the end of the retainer pin for the floating firing pin. So it has to be a rimfire. The serial number, therefore, would start with a K, not an N.

Thanks, guys. Having my SIL re-send the serial #. No doubt in the caliber. It's a .22. The 17-2 is also visible, though a bit difficult to read. I'll check back in when she re-sends the number. Many thanks,

Definately a K-22 I can see the firing pin retaining pin,
a Model 27 would have shrouded ejector rod

Good point! I was so busy looking for the retaining pin, I never even looked at the under-barrel portion.
Once I saw the pin, as related in Post #3 above, I knew it had to be a K-22. Everything else became academic.

Well since it's a -2, but with non diamonds, going by the #(with a k instead of an n), I'd say late 67/early 68.

Thanks for all the replies! It is indeed a "K" start to the serial #.
