Default I inherited a model 17-6" 22LR

I recently inherited a really nice model 17.

I was wondering if there was a way I could tell how old it is?

Also i remember this gun as a kid so I know it is several decades old and wondering if complete changing of the springs would be a good idea?

One thing i noticed is that I can get the hammer and trigger to "lock up" if i dont let the trigger come all the way forward and hear the reset. This is literally about a milimeter away fro fully forward and try to pull it back again. Is this normal, or is this an issue with the reset being too far forward?

I have no idea if my uncle changed any springs. But knowing him it is a definite possibility. The trigger is nice and light as far as im concerned.

I doubt that there is anything wrong with it,including the springs.Let the trigger function as it should.Don't hold it back part way.If you post the serial number(from the bottom of the butt(you may have to remove the grips)we can date it for you.
