Default Happened Upon a Highway Patrolman

Came into this 28-2 very recently. It is one of the cleanest examples of a fine and often overlooked revolver model that I have laid eyes upon, and certainly the cleanest one that I've seen in person.

A quick negotiation later, and it was mine. I didn't like the mix-matched grips on it, so I put some smooth targets on that I had restored. The grips were just sitting in my safe, begging to be put on something anyway.

Should keep its 27-2 Cousin pretty good company in the safe.

Very nice gun, one of my favorites. If I move to South Carolina soon I will have to get one again, for some deer hunting and general shooting.

You have a nice 28. Is that the original finish? I could be the lighting but it looks almost as if it has a Cerakote finish.

Had a 6" HWY PTLMN back in the mid 70s. 100 yd shots with that revolver made for commonplace hits at that range. Made me a true believer in 357.

Made it into plainclothes work and traded it for a 2.5" 66.

If those stocks haven't been re-finished they are for a K-frame, not an N Frame.

Congratulations on the 28! You are sure to enjoy shooting it! I have a 6" no dash from 1960. Have a mint set of diamond targets for it. Bob
