Default 29-2 approx. date of manufacture

Just was wondering about the approx. date of manufacture of my model 29-2. Serial N7867xx. 30 + years ago I was looking for a nice 6 inch and the gun store had a nice blued one in. Took a look at it and it appeared that someone had dropped it on the front sight and really messed it up. Walked away with a nickel one a little cheaper than the blued. Have only shot around 100 rounds through it in 30 years.

According to the 4th edition of the SCSW, your 29 should have been shipped around 1980 or so.

BTW, you do know that we just love pictures of beautiful N frame revolvers here, right? And I am a sucker for a nickel finished N frame especially!

I don't have access to a camera at this time..just sent the lens off to be repaired. Maybe when I get it back. I bought this gun about the same time I picked up a 66-2 4 inch and just after I had purchased a 66-1 2 1/2 inch. Used them all while on and off duty until I went with a 559 and then later a 639. Picked them all up for under $200.00 at the time. Wish I could still do that now.
