Default I've been looking for one of these...

Recently acquired a Model 28-2. I've been keeping a lookout for one for quite some time, so I was happy to get this one.

Gun was in good shape and was wearing a pair of Herretts, which had been cut down at the forward edge by the trigger guard. Took it shooting and it was great.

I bought a pair of magnas and they showed up today. I really like the look of a 4-inch N-frame with magnas.

Serial is S305508. Can someone tell me when this beauty shipped?

Here is a pic:

Nice Patrolman! Standard Catalog says your serial number, well the gun with the serial number on it, probably shipped early 1968. The range for 1968-1969 is 305000 to 329999.

That is a fine looking revolver. I have one of it's younger and longer nosed brothers of the same year, 1968. I also share in the same fate as you in that I had to buy a pair of magnas as well, as mine came to me wearing a set of Siles??? target grips.

Ver ver nice! I'm thinking December 1967, Maybe Jan 1968. Either way, I think it should probably have diamond magnas on it. Others may disagree.

ref the diamond on the magna grips: the directive was issued for the K and N frames on Oct. 11, 1965 and Jan. 11, 1966. Who knows when the no diamonds hit the fitter? Kinda foggy here. I have a 6.5" Mod.-28 from this period that has no diamonds. They fit perfectly. Best
