Help with dating 49 Bodyguard and mod 19-4
Would appreciate dates for a Bodyguard ,ser# 493XXX under handle frame, Mod-49 on the crane, also has numbers 24200 on the yoke.
Also have a .357 with #51K46XX and Mod 19-4 , what does the -4 refer to.
Thanks for any help.

The -4 means it's the fourth revision. Can't help with the dates now. My book is at home.

The 19-4 is about 1979.
The 49 is in the mid sixties -- maybe about 1965.
You have two of the best guns Smith and Wessons has ever made, IMO.
