Cool New to me Model 19-3 Combat Magnum

So I started out with some S&W revolvers several decades back, had a Model 36, a Model 10, and also a Model 13, then due to work necessity got into semi-autos and stayed with them exclusively for the past approximately 25 years. So last week I am looking at photos of a Model 19-3 for sale, and thinking, gee, always wanted a Model 19, but I am not a collector, so if I get it will have to part with something I currently have , but the desire for the 19-3 won out and I received it this week. It actually was even better than the photos, beautiful blued finish, outstanding double and single action trigger pull, and a set of grips that suit me very well.

Had it for its first trip to the range today and was shocked at the tight groups it made out at 25 yards, which surprised me given the barrel length. But this is it for me, only one Model 19, as I am not a gun collector (I keep saying to myself).

Very nice!!!
I picked a 19-3 up myself recently and am also very happy with its accuracy. How do you like the grips, the ones pictured?

I was thinking I was going to order a set of S&W grips right after I ordered the pistol, but glad I waited, as they are extremely comfortable, like them very much, both looks and function. They are marked on the inside "Cobra Handgun Stocks", not familiar with that brand, will have to do some internet searching to see who they are.

A 2 1/2" Model 19-3 Combat Magnum is a very nice piece to own, to shoot, even to carry.
Here's one I enjoy very much - the ivory stocks were my own addition to its beauty.

In case you want to see what the original stocks on your .357 Combat Magnum looked like, here you go:

The original stocks do look nice, may have to order a set just to have.

Since it is a Model 19, it would have to be nickel. The stainless steel version was the Model 66.

Of course, it also looks like nickel. Stainless has a different look altogether.

Cool 19-3 stays, 3914TSW goes

Well it looks like the 3914TSW (beautiful pistol but I do not do safe queens, either it gets used or it goes) pulled the short straw and is going to retroactively fund my 19-3. Three things I especially like about my new 19-3 is the incredibly smooth trigger pull, the counter bored cylinder, just think that looks cool, and the grips, which are marked CKR Cobra Handgun Stock Made in USA, if anyone is familiar with that maker I would be interested in knowing more about them, as I really like these grips.

"But this is it for me, only one Model 19". Famous last words. I said the same thing three 19's ago. You better start now looking in your safe for other autos to sell. BTW, nice 19.

Oh No, I was afraid of that!

So, going off on a tangent here, and at the risk of starting a -what lube is best- fiasco, what is the consensus among the forum member Model 19 revolver experts on lubrication, will my M-Pro 7 LPX Gun Oil that I have been using on my 3rd gen semi-autos work okay for the 19-3? Are there any areas of the 19-3 for which a touch of grease is called for ?

I bought a 2 1/2" new back in 71. It was blue and I think I paid $125.00 for it. Carried it for years and later added combat hammer and trigger. Most of the blue finish was gone about 12 years ago so I sent it to Smith and had it nickeled. Put a pair of Grashorn stags on it and haven't fired a shot through it since the nickel. Too pretty. I picked up a slightly worn 4" 19-3 last week and am waiting on my pusher to tell me when a 6" 19-3 is coming off pawn. This one has a smooth trigger and an obvious action job and good bore. I don't know the price yet but he's always been good to me.
