Default Correct stocks for a 29-2

Trying to find out which are the correct target stocks for a 29-2, six and a half inch with target trigger and hammer. The serial number is in the N20000 range, and it's condition borders on excellent.
Thank you for any and all help.

Regards, Don

Your revolver would have been shipped with "football" style targets.[IMG][/IMG]

I think you are missing a zero in the N serial number.

The N frame football cutout target grips without diamond pattern around the screw hole for 1974-1977 N200000 serial number range.

The only way to know for sure what was on your revolver when it shipped is by lettering the gun.

Jdavis and StakeOut:

Thank you both for your response. In either case, would smooth targets
also be correct?

Regards, Don

Smooth football targets would have been available but it is not likely that a standard 29 would have been shipped with them. Period correct, yes. As StakeOut stated, a letter from the S&W historian is the only way to determine exactly how your gun left the factory.
