Default Spring loaded firing pin in 66 no dash

I discovered the firing pin in my M-66 no dash has a spring in the rear to keep it pushed 'down' - however I noticed my M-60 no dash does NOT have the spring and the firing pin is 'loose' and floats in the hammer - is this normal for The M-60 and others? Thanks!

J frames never have the spring. Magnum K frames and N frames usually do, but not always, since some time in the 1950s as I recall.

The hammer nose for the Model 60 does not have the nose spring cutout.
