Anything special about Mod 12 grips
A friend of mine has a set of magnas off of a Model 12. My understanding is they only fit a 12. Any particular value?

they should be more as they ARE "special" and fit only the model 12 air weight, difference in size, ever so slight.............condition is still foremost.

It's a thinner grip if I remember correctly. I would think they would be worth more considering all the "other" K Frames made compared to the unique M12. At some point in production, Smith beefed up the M12 and went to the standard grip. . .I think!

The Airweight M&P was introduced with the frame being thinner (maybe 1/8 of an inch or so) than the steel frame M&P. Some of the lockwork parts like the hammer and trigger were also more narrow. This required the grips to be different. It stayed that way through the Model 12, 12-1, 12-2 and 12-3. S&W finally widened the frame to the same width as the steel frame K and it became the Model 12-4, so they could use standard K parts, including the grips, in 1984.
It always amazed me to think S&W went to such lengths to save what is probably a very small amount of weight.
