Default K-32

For all of you that keep outbidding me on K-32s, a pox, a hex and a curse on you and all your families. I've had a very nice K-22 and K-38 for some time but I saw that K-32s were running around $3000. I finally decided okay, I'd go for it. Well, I've bid on a few of them now and they've averaged well $4000. grrrrr. Guess I'll just have to live with an incomplete set.

You and 99% of the rest of us... :-)

A solution if you would just like a shooter...buy a nice K-38 and find a K-22 take-off barrel and cylinder. Send them to someone like Jack Huntington and have it made into a K-32 in .32 S&W Long, Magnum or .327.

I have a Model 53 at his shop right now that he is concerting to .327...

Bob

I waited a long time before a gentleman on this forum put one up for sale. A really nice one. After I bought it, another gentleman sent me a full box of period ammo for it. Free! The waiting proved to be a good thing. I got a nice K-32 Heavy Bbl. from 1952 for $2,250 shipped. It is 100% matching and a good 95%+. Folks on this forum were lined up to buy it, but I was first in line. The seller held it until I went to the Credit Union and asked for a loan. Within an hour I got the needed funds and sent for the revolver and never looked back. I have a box and tools for it now. Good things happen to those who wait. Big Larry

I know your pain. I couldn't decide on that 16- 2 or the k- 32, and there for, bid on both. I'm willing to spend around 2500 for one but I'll just have to hold out...

And that's why I gave up and paid a bunch of money for a 16-4.

And to think that at one time those K32s sat on shelves while people bought up the k38s sitting right beside them. Why would you want one of those when you could have a 38 or a 357 for about the same money.

And what will the future bring in another 60-70 years? What over looked guns will be worth the big money?

I hear ya. I've wanted a K-32 for many years. But they're way outta my budget.
Some years back I settled for a 6" 16-4 which I thought at the time was very expensive. Now I find that I could sell it for twice or more what I paid back then. But it ain't for sale.

While they may not technically be a K-22 or K-38, I have a like new 17-4 and a very nice 14-1. Like you, I figured I would never own a K-32 (or Model 16). One day about 7 months ago, I was looking at some auction listings and noticed one with some guns for sale about 20 miles from home. I looked up the auction on the auctioneer's website to see what I could see regarding the guns. They showed one not very good picture of a S&W revolver and said it was a S&W .32. Nothing more in the description, but it sure looked like it might be a M16. So I went to the auction and lo and behold, it was a 98%+ 16-4 with the correct finger groove combat stocks and an 8 3/8" barrel. Gun most likely had not been fired 50 times. I ended up winning that gun for $900. Most of our auctioneers around here know squat about guns and they never accurately describe them. I admit, I got lucky on this one, but I now have all three of the "Masterpiece" target models. Hang in there and keep looking. One day you might get lucky too.

I was looking for a k-32 to shoot, but those prices are out of my range. I dropped out when they passed $2k. I'm thinking that a Ruger SP101 in .327 is worth a try.

If you think a K-32 is tough to find, try looking for a M&P in .32 Long.
