Still not a Smith guy but warming up a bit.
These all came to my home today:
The 19-3 is just darn nice. The mdl 36-1 is a gun I owned and sold. I really regretted selling it so I bought it back. Look closely, its a factory target version.
True to my longer tradition of Colting the factory pinto Detective Special is a prized addition as well.

Really nice group. The first pistol I bought out of high school was a Colt detective special. Sold it 40 years ago and regretted it ever since.

Well, nobody's perfect. 
Very productive day. I am a Smith guy, but I really like the little Colt and would love to have one.

The pinto Detective specials (or any Pinto colt for that matter) is very rare. Colt just didn't make many. I have two as you see pictured, one that is the opposite (nickel frame with blued cylinder) and 2 that are royal blued frames with gold plated cylinders. The gold/blue combo was less than 100 produced. Mostly overruns from Bijan. The others were 250 each. I really like those pintos. To get a LNIB version of those Colt pintos expect to plunk down close to $3k. That is one of the things that is making me warm up to the Smiths although I will say the 36-1 was close to the Colt price.

You don't have to be a fanatic to appreciate a classic
I've got a couple Colts, but I'm not a Colt guy.

The 3" 36 Target is one of the finest guns S&W made. Carry, woods walking, home defense, informal target shooting. Hard to beat, and Colts don't compare.

Nice nickel Detective. Been looking for one of those. Have a nickel Cobra but really like the way a Detective handles.
Going to melt these down and turn them into 3" K Frame Smiths

Bought my first revolver, a Colt Cobra .38, in 1968 ($85) as my off-duty gun b/c my issued weapon was a Colt. Still have it in the safe, not carried any longer but does go to the range now and then. Range officer bobbed the hammer so I could carry it for an undercover gig long ago, but it is otherwise unmolested.
