27-2 box Give-A-Way...
Free 27-2 free box give-a-way...and has been ok'd by Chad...
I am looking for the owner of a 27-2 made around 1973. It is a 5", blue with standard Magna stocks and service type hammer and trigger. The serial number is N166227....
If in two weeks no owner comes forward I will send it to the Member who has a blue 5" WHO DOES NOT HAVE BOX ALREADY which has the closet matching serial number. It is a little worn but better than no box at all...
So if you have an early to mid-1970s 5" blue 27-2 and would like to get in on this please post the first four numbers of your serial number and a picture of the gun if you can... N1662XX
..and for that matter anyone who has a 5" 27 is welcome to post a pic...they are wonderful guns...
Bob

Very nice of you, Bob!
Here's one. I agree that the 5" is the cat's meow. This one came with a box - beat up a bit and someone put duct tape on it, but it is the original box.

The box wouldn't be correct for my nickel 5" 27-2 I bought back in April of 1974, but my serial is close to that box (N168XXX).
Here's what it looks like nowadays:

This old girl could use a box, she's real late '73 N199729, but it looks like I'm beat already.

my poor, naked 5" is numbered N 186xxx. It won't win, but that's a terrific offer on your part.

Got excited to see that 166 for some reason. Mine ends with 166. Dyslexic memory, I guess. Kind offer. Hope you find it.

Close but no cigar; SN 161XXX. Mine was a 1998 gun show find (no box). Large area dealer had his helpers putting out his stock of used guns. This one was misidentified as a Model 15(?) for $215.00. I added the TH, TT and TS later.

Many thanks to Bob in NH for his generous offer. I have no box but will throw my hat in the ring with #N165368--somewhere between 830 to 930 digits away. It has the standard .265 serrated trigger and a .400 semi-target hammer along with Sambar stag grips. I am thinking that the semi-target hammer WAS the standard hammer for a 5 inch Model 27 of this era.

Thanks again to Bob in NH(Superman) my 5 inch has a period correct box. I still think the .400 semi-target is the standard hammer for this era just like BT(Bright Blue) is standard for the Model 27. Attached are some photos showing my 27-2 in it's new home.
