Smooth trigger on Model 25-2?
I have a mint 25-2 with TT, TH and TS but I have rarely shot it because I don't like the wide, serrated trigger and would prefer one that is smooth. Can I get the Factory to replace my trigger or should I consider having some S&W Smith polish out the grooves and re-shape it? Any ideas?

I like the smooth triggers, too. You can find smooth, combat type triggers on eBay most of the time. There is a seller on there named MAGNUMMARK that I have dealt with several times. He usually has whatever you need in a S&W hammer or trigger. Any competent gunsmith should be able to swap them out for you if you don't know how. Good luck with it.

Wait and buy the trigger you want, and save the orig. trigger.
Im of kinda of an anti grinding and buffing type of guy.

Yes - don't mess with the original trigger, just replace it with a smooth one. Keep it in the gunbox with the factory grips....

thanks for the responses. I would not be competent installing a trigger because I would guess it would need fitting. Gun is not for sale so I'm not concerned with altering the trigger (I know that's probably heresy).

If you're never going to sell, and you have a set of gunsmithing screw drivers, remove the side plate, and then the trigger. This is one of the few times you are justified in using a Dremel tool on a S&W.
Grind off the serrations, narrow it a bit, round the edges, polish with emery cloth to a mirror shine, clean out the metal shavings, re-install the hand and slap it back together. Then, ENJOY.

That is exactly what I done to a four inch 25-5. Never regretted it, never will sell it.
