Factory J frame RB Combat stocks, Goncalo Alves, '80s era, most I've seen on factory original guns were model 60 Lady Smiths but they were also sold as accessories. Hope this is helpful.

Thanks - I bought them because I wanted a set of combats for a nickel 36 and jumped at these. IMHO the most beautiful set of GA grips I've ever seen.

A set like that came with my 631. I could not get them off fast enough and install a good set of service magnas.

Beautiful grips.
I found a similar set back in the mid-80's. The wood seems to get prettier as they get older.

The combat Js in this thread seem to be "pick of the litter" to me. It seems that the J combats of that time varied quite a lot... some I've seen were flat on the sides and sorta clunky, like somebody profiled a couple of boards and screwed them on. Others look really well shaped. The profile seems to have been variable as well, and unfortunately I've never found a pair that suited me all around as well as the same vintage K/L frame grips do consistently. Oh well, that's JMHO and of course YMMV. I finally ended up with a pair of ebony(?) Thai grips that were as close to my perfect vision of what my Model 60-4 needed as I could get.

I put a set on a Mod 36-1.
I think they're fine looking stocks and I keep a set or two in inventory for future needs.

Just beautiful! My intention is to put them on a 3" M36 also.

Hopefully your model 36 is a round butt, the set you have are for a RB and the ones in the photo above are SB Combats .

I carry a Model 60 stainless .357 snub daily.
I prefer the standard rubber grips as it helps me to hold onto it when fired!
Yes it recoils stiffly with full loads.
This means to me that it will put down the target when hit solidly.
Also, allows an accurate "double tap".

That 36-1 pictured may indeed be a SB-- IDK-- but it should be noted that these SB stocks were certainly offered as a RB-to-SB-- I had a set of these SB stocks on a 631 that I purchased as new, and the 631 is only RB.
