Appears to be a 1978 gun. Thanks for asking politely!

From what Roy told me a couple years ago, all the 3D numbers come from 1978. Why this isn't in the Standard Catalog is beyond me.

Welcome aboard from Wyoming.
It'll look so much better with the magnas.
I just had my 10-6 (2D154XX) out this afternoon for some wadcutter training. Really nice shooter.
Enjoy yours,
Bob

I agree it looks better. I assume you are aware that the Model 10-6 didn't ship with stocks like those. The squared off butts were for guns with adjustable rear sights. Those shipped on the Model 10 had the rounded bottoms like those on your Model 10-5.
Nothing wrong with the pair you bought, but they aren't correct for a Model 10 of this vintage.

I am very confused. I thought this grip came with the 10-6 originally. I bought this one on EBay and it was labeled as a 10-6 grip. Can you post a picture or direct me to a site that has them.
Thanks. Bo

Below is an M10-7 from '78 - '79 with rounded bottom stocks.
The seller on E-Bay who gave you that information may not have had his facts straight (not at all unusual).
Personally, I don't get too hung up on "correct" stocks, unless maybe they are for a real collector's item.
I would shoot your M10-6 with the Pachs you have on it in the first photo.

Just compare the stocks on your 10-5 with those you just put on your 10-6. You will see the difference in the butt area.
If you just have to get the rounded type and are unhappy with the kind you bought, I'm sure you can find the correct pair on eBay. Personally, I'd be satisfied with the pair you have. They will work just fine in most shooting situations. They do print differently under clothing, due to the squared off edges.

Ok I'm new at this grip thing too.
Are the rounded ones PC Magnas?

Yes. PC stands for Plain Clothes. Supposedly so as not to hang up under clothing, jackets, etc. I don't think it matters all that much, since they are not numbered to the gun, but it is nice to have the correct stocks. The "average" person isn't going to notice the difference one way or the other.
This is a 10-8, but you get the idea.

My model 10-6 SN starts with D6.
Stock butts look rounded to me.
Are they the PC Magnas?
Would it's DOB also be 1978?
