S&W Model 10-5 two inch round butt
This model 10-5 is a recent purchase. It is in 99% original condition with serial number grips to gun. I added the Tyler T-Grip. Price was 450.00. Serial number puts this one in 1977. Maybe a bit much but round butt K frame anything gets my attention. Just thought I would share.

Nice catch, "Pepper"
A 2" Model 10 is on my wish list as well.
Don't forget the range report. (Hopefully this won't become a safe queen!)

I would buy it at $450. A friend of mine just found one in nickel and I got to shoot it two days ago. At 25 yards it was very accurate. The only problem I had was sun vs. nickel made it a little hard to find a good sight picture....that and older eyes.

I usually don't go with Book pricing..... but FYI
SCS&W 4th Ed.(published last fall)....................
Model 10 value;
ANIB $500
Exc. $400
2inch barrel adds a 20% premium
round butt adds $50-100 in higher condition grades..............
So with averaging............... your gun;
$450+ $90 +$75 = $600+
You did fine and got a great gun!!!!!!!

Mine is a 10-7 square butt snub set up w/a Tyler adapter, pretty much the way I carried it during my LEO days.

Good looking gun - and for a great price!
I picked up this DC Police-marked one last year.

Do love those K frame snubs, especially with a T-grip. Wouldn't mind one in the condition yours sports.

If the condition of the finish is any indication, that's a keeper for sure. At that price, you did very well indeed, a very smart buy. I don't think you stole it, however. So there's no need to feel any pangs of guilt--right in the sweet spot, I'd say. Enjoy!

My 10-5 (left) with my 10-6 (right) both sq. butts.
Both with original PC walnut magnas.
My 10-5 was $250 (but that was a long time ago).

Really nice all !. I've been looking for a nice K frame snub for a while; with my aging arthritic hands, I can no longer shoot a J frame. The added weight and large trigger guard will work great in a snub. Sure be great to find one as nice as yours.

Consider applying paint to the front sight

Model 10 snubbie
Thanks for all the positive and informative reply's. I need to get a copy of the SCS&W 4th edition book. The model 10 will be used for home defense. I do not want to use it for concealed carry because of condition. It will see some range time. My wife prefers a Detective Special but she likes the model 10 snubbie and wants to shoot it. I bought this one privately so I hope all of you that wants one finds one. There must have been a train load made over the years.

My 1st K frame snub was/is a 10-5 RB that I bought last March. I really like it, and it is fun to shoot. Not a beauty queen, but fine with me. Bob

Jimmy, I've got Birchwood Casey orange sight paint on all of my revolvers that don't already have front sight inserts. This belonged to a friend and I didn't have my paint pen with me.
