Default Flat Latch Model 36

I just picked up this no-dash model 36 with pinned barrel, flat latch, and thin-blade sight. Original blued finish and wood grips both still looks good as shown in the pictures. Original owner was a California Highway Patrolman who bought this new as his off-duty gun. I was hoping someone can help me determine approximately when it was made; serial numbers in the pics below.

Thanks Haywood for looking up the year. I plan to carry this in rotation with my 640-1.

I'm jealous. I wanted a flat latch but mine is a 1981.

I was born in 1960 and set out to find J frames birth year guns.

A phone call to S&W service center dated my model 36 serial # 2069xx to 1960.

And while searching for the date, forum member "Hondo44" gave a range of serial # 163300 - 220000 for 1960
