I'll second the Model 19 2 1/2" RB for one of the best looking Revolvers Smith has ever made.

I agree with your choices. But I think the 3 inch 586 and 686 rank up there too. Don't have 'em yet, but looking.

I have a few revolvers, of them all I love the look ,balance and feel of the 686-3 with a 2 1/2 barrel. it looks like a bull dog, compact, and tough.

That's my shortened bucket list!

Got the 27-2 in 3 1/2 now on to the others.

One out of three (the 3.5" M-27) gives you a .330 batting average, which ain't too bad. (smile)

I'm partial to the 3" variety. I have a 66 and recently bought a 65. On the prowl for a 3" RB Model 13.

Hard to beat a 44 Magnum with a 5-inch barrel. Click on the photo for a better look.

No argument from me, all of the above are wonderful and beautiful choices! However, I will nominate one my favorites, the 4 inch Md 681. IMO everything about this gun just seems right. So what about the 4 inch Model 686? The simplicity of not having adjustable sights gives the nod to the 681.

After all those N's, L's, and K's I can't help but toss in a few J's. Cylinder opening filled; clean, fixed-sight lines; short front sight: hard to beat.

This 27-2 was out getting a great set of grips put on, so took a picture. I love the 27-2 guns. This is my favorite gun right now. I feel gratified placing a set of grips on a gun that needs them. (Thanks Lee)

I vote for 5" N frames, and I don't own a one. Got a bucket full
of 6"&61/2", the 5" looks about perfect to me. I had a couple 5"
27s but let them get away because I thought 83/8" guns were
the best.

I think a 27-2 3.5 inch and a blue 19 2.5 are as as good as it gets!

I like a lot of the previous ones.
Add Pinto's to my likes.
They just look cool to me.

I agree with all of the above, and being a huge fan of almost anything with a pin in the barrel, it almost pains me to say that one of very favorites is my no dash 581 wearing its magnas. The 681 is also a beauty. There's just something about the lines of a fixed sight service revolver without the rear sight sticking up.

Even an ugly-azz Ruger Flattop can be pretty.

Nice gun! Are those factory Birdseye maple grips? You don't see a lot of those if they are.

One of the best pics I ever saw on this forum was a 14-5 full underlug on a table with an old telephone and a full whiskey glass on the rocks. Wish I could remember who posted it.
