Found at LGS Mod19 357 REV 4"BBL
I see a LGS has a :
USED S&W 19 357 REV 4"BBL
NICKEL PINNED & RECESSED
(19-3) W/PACH GRIPS
$395.00
Is it in the ball park for something like this?
Is the nickel finish durable? Okay for a bush gun?
What problems should I look for?
Thanks!

I prefer blue over nickel but that is a great price for where I live in east central Kansas. Even though I much prefer blue, I would buy that one at that price.

If it is good mechanically, I'd say $395 is a good price, although the grips detract from its value. Simichrome or other similar polish will make it shine like new!

Yes it's a good price, but check the timing in single and double action. In my experience over the years, many S&W's and other manufactures suffer from timing issues. When I am considering a new or used revolver, timing is the first thing I check as well as cylinder / forcing cone gap.

No, you should not buy it. What an idea. BTW - where is the shop?

That's cheap around here. Most I see are $600 plus if in excellent condition

That seems like a pretty good price for a Mod 19. I understand that they were prone to barrel cracks if fired with bullets smaller than 158 grain. I have never seen this myself, but it may be a good idea to take a small flashlight along and look closely at the forcing cone area of the barrel for any signs of damage.
Others on this forum will be much better versed in this than I.

If it is in good mechanical shape, that's a very food price for a M-19, especially for one that is pinned and recessed as this one appears to be.

Buy it quick before anyone else figures it out! Timing issues are easily resolved....grips are easily changed, nickel is easily polished.

Before buying, get them to take off those Pachmayr grips so you can see the grip frame.
I've seen quite a few decent-looking revolvers that had rust and pitting under the grips. Always check under the grips, both rubber and wood.

MI, Don't think about it, BUY it Now.
If you are not happy with it, let me know, and I'll buy it from you.

Wish I could.
I had someone buying a rifle from me and haven't heard from him again.
Don't have the cash for it.

These things (except polishing) will add $200 or so to the cost of the revolver.

Williams isn't giving anything away free. I'd be extremely leery of that particular pistol and would want to closely examine it.
