66-1 Recessed but not pinned?
I have a 66-1 with recessed cylinder, but the barrel is not pinned. I thought the -2 ended the pinned barrel. There is an article about the model 66 in the latest edition of Dillon Precisions Blue Press that got me looking in my safe when I recalled my 66 is not pinned. It's a 6" variant.
The yoke is stamped (B)7
serial #110K5**
Thanks for any insight!

The -2 ended the recessed cylinder. The pinned barrel went away without a new dash number right before it, close enough together that it seems the -2 change eliminated both.

110K numbers were issued in 1981. snw19_357's information is correct and your revolver fits into the appropriate time frame. Remember that the L frames were introduced in 1980, which began the transition away from pinned barrels and counter-bored charge holes.

And it started in 1949. It had only one tailfin and three headlights-two on the left and one on the right (I think).

well the transmission was a 53, and the motor turned out to be a 73, and when we tried to bolt it up all the holes were gone.
So we drilled it so it would fit, and with a little bitta help from an a-dapter kit, we had that engine running just like a song!
