Smith and Wesson 19-2
I picked up both of these today for one price. I would like to know when it was made and what it might be worth and then will tell you all what I gave for it. To start off no box and no papers has extra number under the top strap hand eitched, probably a police department serial number. Model 19-2 with target grips wide hammer and trigger. The serial number is K712xxx has holster wear both sides of barrel tip and the cylinder the rest of the revolver looks very nice and locks up very tight. the pictures just don't do it justice. All feed back is welcome and I think I did ok. Tell me what you think.

The 19-2 was made circa 1961 to 1967.
Serial # K712xxx should date to 1966.
The SCSW (Standard Catalog of Smith & Wesson) 4th edition cites $500 in very good condition with a notation of 50% premium for the 19-2 in "higher grades." The diamond target grip are desirable. The safest guess on value is something over $500.

Congratulations on your purchase! The wear on the 19 cylinder could have been caused by storing it in a leather holster. My Dad gave me a M&P that had the same issue. Humidity in the holster being held on the gun. Not a good environment. Enjoy them! Bob

Your 19-2 was probably shipped in late 1966 or early in 1967. Given the condition, target hammer and trigger, and decent diamond targets, I would estimate its value at around $500 (assuming it functions well).

Well guys I gave 450.00 for both and around here I could probably get 650.00 for the 19-2 the derringer will be for sale real soon. The derringer doesn't even look or appear to have been fired but has holster wear on one side like it was rubbing on the leather.

You have a quality "SHOOTER" for a real good price! I would have sold the derringer too! Not much for things like that. You did well! Bob
