Yeah, at that price level you just take it into inventory.
Good find, and looking forward to pics.

Need?
What is this word.. "Need"?
Congrats on the new gun. A 28-2 recently followed me home too - it needed a new home, and I was glad to help!
Enjoy it.
Bob S.
p.s. We need pics!

Just how the heck does a person find a deal like this?
I think it's a hoax!!
He put $350 down and there's a balance due.

Nope, no hoax! Just got lucky, the LGS deals more with semi's than Smiths and I always get a good deal on them from these guys. Was marked $399, emailed them and asked for best price, $350 OTD was the answer, out the door I went!

I was wondering which barrel length. Now the big questions are
Stocks?
Condition?
Pictures will tell the story …

Born and raised in "upstate New York", obviously left way too early (50 years ago) as I "ain't never" seen no deal like that....$350 OTD?
When I snagged my 28-2, I ran OTD here in Vaginny so fast because I was sure the LGS guys were calling the po-po, hollering thief all the way.
What I paid? I dang sure am not saying now but suffice it to say there were at least 2 Benjamin's on top of the OP's.
OP: A very, very good snag.......but as always.....no pics it didn't happen.

Around here we are all excited by a nice 28 these days.... cus 27s are so dang stupid expensive, that they've dragged their " fat and rather plain sister" to the dance ............
but I know LGS's where a big fat old 28 could sit for months at $500.
If you know the owner they will often be willing to take a $50-100 profit from a good customer vs sitting on a gun for months..... their money isn't working unless they turn guns over.

I should be able to pick it up Monday, photos to follow soon after.
BTW, I only paid $275 for this 28 no dash just 2 years or so ago.
I guess I am pretty lucky!

There's one around here for sale right now...4-incher, S serial number. No box, no papers, no nuthin'. Started off at $1000! I told the guy...you know this isn't a thousand-dollar gun. Sez he, they're sellin' for $1200 on the Internet (cue big eye roll on my part). Not without box and papers they aren't, sez I. We'll see, sez he.
Well, it's now priced at $850, and it ain't moved at that price in two or three weeks, either.
$600-$650... maybe. The stocks do number to the gun, and its overall appearance is good. But $850? I don't see it.

Haven't got a 28, but do have two 27's (a 3.5" & a 6"). Both cost me $600 each in the past two years. The deals are out there, just have to find them. But $350 for a M28 is great!

Ya, a half price sale IMO........ a Y2K ; "Back to the Future" pricing.
There are always deals........they're called "deals" because they are the exception not the rule.
I got a +90% shooter grade 4" recessed 27-2 within the last year for $560/ $600 out the door.....it was a deal ...... not the norm........ LGS wanted to move 3-4 guns to free up some cash to buy some stuff coming in..........he had a bunch of nicer 27s and 28s and some nice Ks and Ls ....... he knew this 27 would sit and I am a good customer....... told me the why of the sale. My guess is he made $160 on my sale and bought another gun............................

I got to agree with Watchdog.....$1,200 may be list on the I-Net but they aren't closing for that. The S with numbered stocks, might do the $800 but I still think it is high.
Now if it was a 28-1 then we'll see for sure.

I would guess he made a lot more than that. Dealers often get used handguns from someone who just wants to get rid of it. Maybe it is inherited(?) So the dealer lowballs them and they are glad to get anything at all for it.

Congratulations!! At $350.00 for that revolver I would have sprained my wrist getting to my wallet. Not mention drooling all over the sellers counter. Great find............. hardcase60

That revolver is in super condition. The rather flat / dull looking blue finish was standard on the M28. I would rate that at a very strong 95%, if not higher.
Not that you would want to separate them, but the stocks alone would sell for over $100.
