Default Herrett's lately?

I wondered if anyone has had any custom stocks delivered from Herretts in the recent past? They've done some beautiful work for me, but it's been a while, and just wondered if the quality remains the same--wood, checkering etc. Thinking about another pair for a 27-2 and just thought I'd inquire first.

Thanks in advance for any information.

I have never had any custom stocks made for me by them. I do like the size, style, and looks of their product. I usually pick them up on ebay. A couple of pictures. Bob

Indeed, these are the last pair of Ropers I bought about 6 months ago and I have 5 pair bought in the past 2 years. Still as good as ever. These are figured walnut.

I took delivery of a pair of Jordan Trooper stocks for my Model 58 last year. Fantastic fit that distributes recoil and enhances point ability. I prefer closed-back stock for these reasons.

If you call them they are very friendly and helpful. Great people to deal with.

I still have the pair that I had on my Model 15 when I came on the job in late 70's.

I've had several pair of Jordon Troopers but, won't get any more from Herretts. Last pair(for my MG 629-4 were way too big went back for a rework. Still too big for my hands(which are big), I called and talked to owner, his excuse was they had a new grip carver which happened to be a female(I have absolutely no problem) told me to return them but, instead I just carved them to fit myself(no easy job).

My 17-3 has Herrett's repros in cocobolo. I bought these for $40 at a gun show in Vegas, then won $30 on my way out of the casino! That's cocobolo on the OMM also, but I don't know who made them.

I have the "Shooting Ace" stocks on both of my J-frame Smith snubbies. My favorite stocks by far for these revolvers. I also have a custom stock for my Model 52 pistol from Herrett. Sure hope Herrett is still in business-great company in my experience.
