Default The quest is over for a model 66

Finally got my hands on a 4" no dash that I've been wanting for some time. This one is a solid 98-99% with a near perfect box w/unused tools and all paperwork. Vintage 1976. I bought this gun to shoot - a lot! Starting this afternoon .......

My problem is, if I'm looking for a shooter and find one like that, I stick it in the safe and wind up looking for another shooter. Danged expensive when that happens too.

Agree with this except I'm confident that I can keep a stainless gun looking new. The quest is over for a model 66 I'm a little more concerned with a nice nickel gun.

Great looking 66 you picked up man.

As to keeping a nickel gun looking good, it's easier than a blue finish revolver. Nickel doesn't wear near as easily or badly as blue does, especially wear like in a holster. I haven't owned a stainless gun as long as I've owned a nickel gun, but it seems to me that upkeep on both is much the same so far.

I too longed for a M66 no dash. Finally, one showed up for sale on this Forum and to beat all, it was a very early gun with stainless sights. Got it for a fair price, but it had Ahrends stocks on it, so I found a nice set of Goncalo Alves targets on Ebay and it is 100% now. Happy Camper. Big Larry

Super nice gun!!! I never had a 19, or a 66. March gun show, I picked up a 66-2, 2.5". Nice gun also, but not near as nice as yours. Enjoy shooting it! Bob

I took my grips off and put in box, put on a set of Hogues, a lot more durable and fun to shoot.

I'll likely do the same and have a set of walnut combats by Culina in mind. Ran a hundred 38 Specials through it on Sunday and man what a nice shooting gun! Everything I'd hoped it would be and more.
