Default Before & after 19-4

Not being able to afford the high cost of a 3" p&r Smith, I picked up a used 6" blued 19 with the plan of having my local master Gunsmith convert it for me.
I'm very happy with the result. I will try to attach photos.

That's very very nice. How much does it weigh now? And what brand grips/stocks are those?

Nice looking working gun, all business.

I like the flat black finish on the weapon. What is that?

Did the Master need to modify the grip frame or did those new ones
go right on?

Thanks for your replies. Ahrends rb tactical grips carribian rosewood. They fitted the round butting to the grips, and removed the backstrap serrations- perfect fit.
The finish is duracoat epoxy in combat gray. Dave at the Custom Shop fabricated the front sight from scratch. He also color cased where he cut the hammer off.
Several other features as well $850

Very nice!

And I commend your bravery in showing (admitting?) on this forum, how you willingly altered a Smith & Wesson revolver!

That is just flat out cool! There are a few quality gunsmiths out there making dreams come true, you're fortunate to have a good relationship with one. Now that 19 is truly yours, well done.

I love it when an owner customizes their carry gun to their liking. That's part of the beauty of revolvers is it is so doable. Really like that the slab cut on the barrel stops about a 1/2 inch before the frame. Fantastic looking piece. Enjoy!!!

Like the job, not the color. Why didn't you have it re-blued?

I am a firm believer in the concept that it's YOUR gun, make it what you want.

That being said, I'm not a fan on the way the slabbing of the barrel turned out - I just don't like the way it tapers. It just doesn't look "right'".

The rest of it is fine - and I'm a big fan of 3" K-Frame S&W's!

Enjoy,
Bob S.
