Default Mod 18-3 Find

Walked into my LGS today and there in the case was a real nice Model 18-3. I figured this would make a great partner to my 15-3 so we made a deal for $550. Now due to CA rules that a firearm on consignment must be held for 30 days before a sale and then the 10 day wait, can't process the paperwork until the 12th of next month and then can't pick it up until about the 22nd (10 days?). Anyway, it's a real clean, little old lady, revolver with just minor wear at end of barrel. Almost forgot, add the $39.87 tax and then the CA Dept. of Justice DROS fee of $25.00 and it all set me back $614.86. I feel it's a great deal since it doesn't seem to have had many rounds through it and the finish is about 99%. It's real tight, timing seems right on and etc. Also, the SN put it at 1975.

Even at the price after taxes and fees is still a good deal. The few that I have seen up for sale have all been $700+, except for an 18 that came up a few weeks ago here in my state for $400. It didn't last long and I wasn't feeling a 6+ hour round trip for it.

The price is very good for an 18-3. The waiting period sure does suck. Here in Florida with a CCW, you take it home as soon as the cash changes hands.

Same in NC. CCW substitutes for the NICS also so minimal waiting

Thanks for the comments, yes, California is hard on us honest people, if I weren't honest, I guess I could just go down some alley, find a crooked dealer and buy what I want but, I'm not like that. Would begin a move to Nevada tomorrow if I could get my wife to agree. She thinks we're too OLD, I don't think almost 80 is too OLD. I've tried to post pictures before without much luck and I will try again next month. As for the purchase, I didn't think I needed any more revolvers but then I walked
into the shop and spotted that 18. I guess I have no will power when it comes to Smith revolvers!
