Default 1970 S&W 15-3 Combat Masterpiece

Gonna pick this up on Saturday. Got it for $450. All numbers match except for the grips, which are obviously not stock. A few scratches, finish looks like about 95%. Been wanting one of these for a while.

Congratulations, p8riot. Great revolver!

Here's my Model 15-4 that I got just last January. Pristine.

Hope you enjoy yours as much as I do mine.

Careful though. My wife shot my Combat Masterpiece and then she has informed me that it is now her revolver. It sits in the nightstand on her side of the bed. Life does have its difficulties!

God bless,
Birdgun

Great get. Well done. My 15-3 is just a little older than yours; K975xxx. It has it's original stocks.

Nice gun! My wife did the same with my 67 no dash! In the safe though. Know the feeling. Bob

Amen to the 67!

Mine was $350, a police trade-in.

Congratulations Sir. You have just taken ownership of the finest revolver ever made, by any brand, in any caliber. The K-38 Combat Masterpiece is my personal favorite.

My pristine 1953 K-38 Combat Masterpiece

And my model 15 no dash born in 1958. This was the first gun I ever purchased.

As a captain, I carried an engraved, silver plated 4" 15 for several years on days when street clothing was appropriate. Some folks, especially my Ranger friends, considered it a BBQ gun, but it was a great working gun. Light and handy, but better sights and shootability than the 2" pre 10 that was issued to me for that purpose. The additional two inches of barrel was no problem to carry.

After the Sig 220 became the uniform sidearm, I was also issued a compact 228 for non uniformed wear. I traded the 15 for a nice shotgun.

My model 15 comes in just behind my 586 on my favorites list. I am confident you will be very happy with yours.

Not much to not like about a Model 15/67, and that's a nice one.

My -2 is beat up a little more, but it's the S&W I've had the longest, and the one I've never really thought about selling or trading. I don't see diamond targets everyday.

Picked it up yesterday. Finish is better than he described. Only found three areas that had any flaws at all (last three pics) and that was just minor freckling.
