Default 65-2: Opinions?

I have the option to buy this 65-2 for $525 out the door. Looks to be in good working order, but there's some scuffs on the right side by the muzzle and a ding on the right side of the recoil plate (see pictures). I'm not 100% certain, but I also think the grips are wrong. What would you be willing to pay for this gun?

What you paid sounds fair for what you got. It has the pinned barrel and recessed chambers (P&R) which many of us like. Somebody probably did change the original stocks for targets, but if they fit your hands better, what's to complain about? If they bother you, sell them in the classifieds and buy what you want.

Looks like someone took a pair of pliers to the extractor rod at some point. Between that, the damage to the right side and most likely non-original grips I would put that at a $350 gun. A good shooter but not worthy of collector money which the price is close to.

Pinned and recess adds value. That one is pretty beat up though. I lucked into a near perfect 3" -3 a year or so ago for $425. I'd keep shopping.

I agree with MrG, too much for what it is. Not that it couldn't be made to look much better. No matter what, it will be shooter grade, and not a collectable. Let us know how you make out! Bob
