Hello again Forum!

I forgot I had this, and my experience with the excellent comments on the forum made me want to share this one with you for any input you guys might have about this later model Hand Ejector. I have a wooden presentation box, papers and tools for the revolver, but the blue interior of the box is almost disintegrated. Thank-you, Tom

Tom:

Beautiful engraved 27-2! Thanks a ton for sharing. I very much like the pattern and the coverage. Do you know who did the engraving? It would surprise me if it is factory engraved, as most factory engraved S&W revolvers have a small roll mark on the left side, rather than the large roll mark on the right side. However, those beautiful smooth presentation stocks are consistent with guns that left the factory with factory engraving.

Thanks again for sharing, I always love to see engraved firearms and engraved 357s are my collecting passion. For a ship date reference, I have an engraved model 27-2, SN N165742 that shipped in Feb 1974 and I would expect that your SN N162131 shipped sometime in 1973.

All the best,

Beautiful 27 you have there man!

Like bamabiker said, there is a forum member here that does a fantastic job of restoring the presentation cases and that beautiful gun deserves having the case restored. His forum name is jcelect.

I forgot who the fella is (mentioned on this Forum a bunch of times, so you might want to do a search) that does presentation box restorations. You can always purchase some blue silk, spray adhesive and foam to do it yourself. A fun project if you are up to the task.

PS: Why would you want to waste your money on a presentation box for such a scratched up gun? LOL !! Just kidding! VERY NICE!!

The Engraved S&W Mod. 27 revolver that you show, is truly, a beautiful work of art. The Mod. 27 family heritage, is apparent from the checkered Frame, and barrel. The amount of tasteful engraving, done by whomever, looks to me, to be just the right amount. I certainly would like to have my S&W Mod. 27 3.5" revolver engraved, exactly as yours is. I,ve "fooled around" too long, and have arrived at the stage in life, called "Advanced Maturity". at 87 there isn't enough time left for me to commission a good engraver, and wait for him to complete his job, on my gun. I will just have to, "Make Do" enjoying, yours, and others' works of art. THANKS!

Chubbo
