Default Not Going To Buy Any Guns For A While, Then My dealer Called

I was not going to buy any guns for a while, then I got a call from my dealer who told me about this LNIB Nickel Model 19-4 (1978 MFG). I was told a person wanting to sell off his guns had brought this Model 19-4 and a LNIB 70 series Colt Gold Cup National Match 45 into his shop for consignment sales. I bought both guns, without hesitation after I had seen them. The old saying is "The time to buy something is when you see it". I will pick up the Gold Cup next week. I had been saving the smooth Rosewood grips on the Model 19 for a special gun, and this Model 19 fits the bill.

That is a beautiful handgun. I really like my 19-4. I've been shooting it since the 70's.

Wow!!! To nice scores. You're right those rosewoods like great on that one. The ones to buy always seem to show up when you're trying to cool off on buying. Enjoy both of those!! PEN

I've seldom seen a nickel gun that couldn't be spiffied up by a set of Rosewood grips!
Nice combination; good purchase.

NEVER !! say "I am not going to purchase anymore guns" !!

Instead, say " I am not planning on purchasing any guns at this moment in time ".

I used to think I didn't care for nickel guns, but now I have realized, when you find them in pristine shape, they look awesome. I now have a K22, a 3.5 inch barreled 27-2, and my most recent purchase of a 1949 S&W M&P Pre-Model 10 all in the nickel finish! They are 3 that I would not sell ever!

Model39, your new gun is superb and the rosewood grips put it over the top!!

Nice to have and you just may make a healthy profit down the road. I too say I'm done but a nice Vaquero is gettin hard to say no to. Also a Winchester 1873 copy sounds mighty good. Hey we're only human and we only go around once!!

Extraordinary gun! Congrats!

I think you meant "pusher." That got me to thinking, though. My dealer never calls me. I just go down there for transfers or ammo, then I'll see something in his display case. But think how bad it would be if he actually called me to tell me about cool guns.

My first carry gun was a 4", Model 19 so I do have a soft spot for them. Like a few other posters, thankfully there are no dealers/pushers calling me. I'm pretty good at resisting everything except temptation. Such as the recent purchase of a 2", blued, Model 36 from a respected forum member and just yesterday a blued, 2", SB, Model 10-5 on a B2B. It's a sickness, an dark abyss with no bottom. hardcase60

I've been abstaining from buying new guns except for a Pedersoli 1874 Infantry Rifle in 45/70. We only have one gun store in town. however driving back from town there is a rather large billboard that shows when the next gun show is in Lafayette,La. Usually don't have any $$$ so don't go to the gun show. Frank

I picked up the 70 Series Colt Gold Cup National Match earlier this afternoon. I can not believe the beautiful deep blue black finish that is on this gun. I never had any interest in owning one of these, however the LNIB condition as well as the $795 price won me over.

Don't ya just hate when that happens? "Hey, Bob, Arnie at the gun shop. Some guy just put a 27-2 on consignment, LNIB with all original paperwork and box, he's going through a divorce and the wife gets half the sales price per court order. He wants $30 for it out the door....Bob? Bob?"...hears footsteps running out the front door. "Ill be right there, Arnie!"

No, it is not factory. It is a 1948 K22 that was nickeled by Ford's in Florida. It was very well done IMHO. But, they did make "some" nickel 17-3's. They bring big bucks! Here is a picture of my gun:
