Default Too good to be true?

This listing just came up on Florida Gun Trader. From the poor quality pictures, it looks like a 6" nickel plated P&R model 57 for $450. I messaged him, but I can't get up to that area until Friday and I'm sure it will be long gone by then. If legit, it's a heck of a deal.

It sure looks like it is well worth $450. Just the stocks alone would fetch $100 - $150.

06-15-2017 Edited to update -- Price Change!
The seller relisted the revolver for an updated price of $650. Don't know how I would feel about that if I had said "I'll take it" but since that wasn't the case (for me or anyone else that I know about) no need for me to have any feelings one way or another.

Found out some more info on it. Serial number is N606xxx, so no S prefix, sadly. The serial puts it in the 1979-1980 range, so it can still be P&R, correct? If I'm reading my SCSW correctly, P&R went through about 1982?
No box or papers, but in good shape from the pictures. I'm going to go look at it, and if it's in nice shape, I think I'll treat myself to a nice early Father's Day present. What would you guys put as a value on it based on my description?

I talked to him and he's an older gentleman who listed a few other guns as well. He said he got the prices mixed up and based on what the actual value should be, it seems legit. I think $650 is still a good deal if the condition is good. See my post just before this one and let me know if you think it's a good deal.

If in nice shape that's better than a "good deal" IMO. If he appears he could use the dough, might be a bit too good.

I blew the pics up he posted. Finish looks great, with a slight turn line, and the grips/stocks look perfect. Pic's of nickel guns are hard to tell sometimes.

If it was closer to me, I'd check it out for you.

I'd imagine he'd hold it for you.

Just checked GB, I'd say that's a really good deal at $650.

I thought it was a good deal, but just wanted to get some opinions. I got hosed on a deal on a blued 57 no dash that had the barrel swapped out on it. Still a good gun and I probably didn't way overpay for it, but I chalked it up as a learning experience. He just now texted me back when I asked if there was a dash & number after the model and it sounds like a 57 no dash.

From the pics...slight turn line and perfect stocks, If I wanted it, I'd tell him, and make a drive north tomorrow.

You can see the barrel pin, and since the rear of the cylinder is so close to the recoil shield, it looks recessed as well. The book says P&R was eliminated in 1982. The serial number should have shipped in 1980, so it should be safe to say it's P&R.

It always bothers me when a price suddenly changes, but people do make mistakes. If others say this is a good price, listen to them. I don't really know the market on M57s, especially nickel ones. I just piped up when the price was $450, since that is a great price on any N-Frame in good shooting condition.

Okay you made my dig mine out! ****, not pin or recessed or N,
It's a AJW122X, with 6" T&T. Now I'm jealous, it is what it is!

I got it! Father's Day did come early! I want to thank everyone for their input. Always fantastic information on this forum. I posted pictures in another thread I started and I'll post more after I clean it up a bit over the weekend.
