Default Model 10-5 Box Question

Hey guys. I recently purchased a Model 10-5 with a 5 3/4"-ish barrel from 1971-1972 and I'm trying to locate a 2 piece BP box for it. I found one on Ebay, but the label says its originally for a 4" Model 10, but it looks long enough to fit a 5 3/4" gun. Does anyone know if S&W used the same box for both 4" and 5 3/4" and 6" barrels? Thanks.

I don't have one handy, but the boxes for a 4 and 6" K frame are definitely different in length. However, I wouldn't put it past the factory to put a 4" gun in a box meant for a 6" and slapping a sticker on it .

There wasn't any such thing as a 5 3/4" barrel on the M&P revolvers. Yours would be a 6" and boxes were definitely different. I have a few 4" boxes from the period. Next time I dig into the safe, I'll see if a 6" gun will fit in a 4" box. I tend to doubt it, at least not with the stocks on.

Alan is right - anything can happen, but it seems unlikely in this case.
