What's the date of manufacture?
What's the date of a model10-5 with the serial number of C719***?
I have a rough looking one with next to no finish left on it but it's a great shooter.

We don't have dates, but 1964 is the likely year.

S/N C622700 - C810532 were made between 1963 - 1965. The closest ship date I have to yours is C806463; it shipped in Feb 1966.
Smith & Wesson is well known for not shipping in serial number order.

I have two 10-5's.
C9289xx shipped in Jul 1967
D3661xx shipped in May 1971
They both are very good shooters.

Likely late 1966, perhaps early 1967.

My 10-5
My newly acquired 2", SB, Blued, 10-5 is serial numbered D70171. 20170621_183224.jpg She was fitted with Goodyear's but for the photo I replaced them with a set of what is believed to be period correct shoes. Got a better set in the mail. This one came to me for under $400.00 with a nice leather holster. hardcase60

S&W Model 10-5
I will join in with my 10-5 in 5 inch standard barrel with a serial D250XXX....guessing late 60s, maybe 69', but can't quite narrow it down with the big book of Smiths. I gave my 10-6 in 4 inch with heavy barrel to my son in law for moving to Texas from California and needed a 10 back in the pile.

Hi Bob,
Great looking stocks on your model 10. Who made them?

I recently sold my four-inch 10-5 for too little money to an elderly friend who needed a house gun, but I'd love to have that snubby.
I liked the standard tapered barrel. It seemed to point better for me, besides looking old school cool.

That stag/bright Tyler combo looks quite attractive.
I would have taken some acetone to that pink paint slobber as soon as I got the gun home, though ...
