Model 66
Dumb question. Do all the model 66 2.5", regardless of the dash, come only in a k frame?

There is no such thing as a dumb question, if you don't know - ask!

All model 66s as well as all 19s 13s and 65s are .357s ;models 10, 14,15, 64 and 67s are .38 specials (as well as others in .22 and .32 ); are built on the K-frames.
K is the "old" 1899 mid size frame........ J-frame is small , N-frame is large.....in about 1980 Smith introduced the L-frame which is between the K and N.
There are also M and X frames but that's a story for another thread.

HSFB24, if you like the set up of the 66 but want it bigger the next size up would be a 686 2.5 on the L frame. If you like the set up but find it a lil' too big the next frame size down would be a J frame and they make a stainless .357 with adjustable sights but that has a 3' barrel just a tad longer.
