Default M38 "Air Weight" Followed Me Home Yesterday

I went to my favorite LGS yesterday since I haven't been there in a couple of weeks. I saw this gem hiding in the case while looking over a Beretta single action revolver in .45 Colt. Anyway I immediately lost interest in the Beretta and immediately started paperwork on this guy. SCSW dates it in '76-'77. It came with oversized Pachmayr wood stocks. I replaced them with faux ivory stocks I recently acquired from a forum member (thanks ANTON CHIGURH). It looks much better with these stocks installed

I've always loved that combo of blued and white grips. That is a fantastic J frame.

Super nice looking pistol. I have one in Nickel. Hope you checked the frame under the forcing cone for the infamous crack though.

I got my M38 flat latch second hand in the '70s as a back-up (B/U) to my Model 15 service revolver. B/U guns had to be registered w/the department and we had to qualify w/it annually. It was known as the ugliest gun you'll ever love.
