Your 66 will handle any .38 special loads. Some recommend sticking with bullets heavier than 125 grain in Magnum loads due to possible issues with forcing cone cracking with the lighter bullet Magnum loads, but this would not hold true for .38s. Shoot any .38s you want with no worries. Value in the current market depends on several things, including overall condition, whether you have the box, documents, and tools that came with the gun new, not to mention where you live - but a rough ballpark iwould be $600 on the low end on up to $750, possibly even higher in some regions and if the other variables mentioned are present and in good order. Can't help you on the holster question but I'm sure others will be along who can.
