Default Four Inch 19-4 At The Range

I had the best time at the range this morning, as I decided to take my 4 inch 19-4 with me. What a joy that thing is to shoot. I had a bunch of .38 special handloads with me, and I just enjoyed every minute I spent behind that gun today.

Most days I shoot Ruger revolvers at the range- a couple of Security-Sixes, a Blackhawk, a Single-Six- and I like them all a lot. Shooting the 19, though, is like parking the Chevy and driving away in the Cadillac. Smoooth!

My Ruger GP100 is good. I know it will stand up to real steady magnum use.

But my K-frame S&W Combat Masterpiece is just smooth and slick.

Yup. I guess that's the reason I shoot the snot out of the Rugers. I figure I won't wear one out in my lifetime.

I know exactly what you mean. I have a security six 6 inch and it gets most of the use, but my model 19 is so much smoother to shoot!! So yesterday I bought me a model 28 so I can use that to soak up magnum loads all day long. Now between the 3 it will give me more "smith time" at the range.

My 4" 19-3 is the handgun I have the most confidence in. If I needed to take one shot for money (or worse), that would be my pick.
