Default New to me Model 15-3

I had been watching a local WTT ad wherein a gentleman was wanting to trade his Model 15-3 for a semi-auto. I traded him straight across for a Model 915 with two mags.

I think I did alright on this one.

Zipty6,

I pity the poor chap when he realizes what a mistake he's made.
But I cheer your good fortune.

Yes, I believe you did very well on that trade. I really like the wood, (grips/stocks).

Not that familiar with the 915 but I think you did well. And if the other party is equally happy, that makes for a good trade.

ETA:
Coincidentally, I brought home a 15-3 today but not as clean as yours.

I own both. (as a mater of fact, more that one of each, if you consider the 411 (40S&W) but only one 911. It would have been difficult for me to do the deal. (the 911 was only produced for a couple of years and then replace by the 910 and I have been told it is not as good) On the other hand the 15 was produced in the millions and with the exception of the Model 10, rode more miles in a squad car than probably any other Smith. Having said that, really nice 15s are not laying on the shelf of every gun shop you go in. You have to be the judge of your trade. If you are happy with your decision(and who am I to say other wise, not having seen both guns in person) then you done good.

zipty6,

I'm not sure where you are located in Oklahoma, but I'm a fellow Okie from down in the far S.E. corner (Idabel / Broken Bow). Wish I could find a few trades like that. Great looking Model 15 you have there my friend.

My 915 was in pretty good shape, I just never got really attached to it. I'm happy to give its spot in the safe to the Model 15.

I'm up in Green Country and wish I could find more nice trades. The last few nice looking guns I got in trade ended up needing minor repairs.
