New to me today?

Went to small gun show today and a S&W Model 25-5 followed me home. What is appox. date of manfc. Serial number BAR24xx
Has a 6in. barrel to front of cyclinder. Target Hammer but trigger is about 3/8" wide with serrated vertically. Cal. is of 45 Colt. Has Hogue Grips no wood. Did it have wooden box are had they quit
by then. Thanks for your Help

Welcome! A 7 yr member and nice 1st post. That s/n shows your 25-5 should have been shipped sometime in 1988. The only wooden box I'm familiar with is the 125th anniversary edition. There may be others tho. BTW, you've been here long enough to know that you have to show us some pic!!!

My 25-5 came in a wooden presentation box. It was an 8 3/8

Nice find there, I agree we need a pic! It has the alphabet serial number so the cylinder throats should be good. Let us know how she shoots, enjoy that one.
