Default They call me ham hand

So here I am. Beautiful Model 36 no dash 543575. So I want to remove the cylinder &crane put a drop of oil in . I Use the wrong size screwdriver & booger the screw. I was in a hurry . I was able to dress the screw nicely ,but it`s a thorn in my side to be such a duffer. I order a screw from Brownells, & one from another popular retailer. Both come in ,nice. However both of the screws have threads that are way big . I guess being the genius I am .i cant seem to find the proper screw. any help? Thank you Charlie

Welcome from the NC Piedmont!.

I've contacted S&W before with needs like you have. Sometimes they can help. I've asked for small parts like this and when I asked how to pay they said my favorite words - no charge!

Here's the number 1-800-331-0852

Hope it helps.

You need to specify the aprox vintage of the gun. This is evidently before the change to the spring loaded yoke retention screws. J Frame can be smaller than K Frame screws.

So then are you saying a spring-loaded yoke screw from a J-frame has different threads than the older solid yoke screws?

He furnished the serial number. The OP's revolver seems to be from approximately 1954-1955.

Surely I'm not the only guy around here who'll try to help a brand new member out by looking up a serial number?
