1980, according to the serial number.

"Duke Snyder" ??? Dodgers fan much?

I always thought it was interesting that Snyder was born in L.A., played for the Dodgers in Brooklyn, and then moved with them to his hometown in '59.

Blame Walter O'Malley. BTW, my grandfather knew Mr. O'Malley and had no use whatsoever for him. FWIW.

Stu
Before '58 there were no west coast Major League teams. The Dodgers moved to LA when I was nine. I used to lie in bed at night with my crystal radio earplug in, listening to Vin Scully and Jerry Doggett call the games.

Jack,
For those of us in LA prior to '58 we had the old PCL (Pacific Coast League) which consisted of the San Diego Padres, LA Angels, Hollywood Stars, San Francisco Seals, Oakland Oaks, Sacramento Solons and a Salt Lake City Team. Can't remember if Portland and Seattle had teams in that league. Heck I remember going to Dodger Stadium and listening to Vinny call the game on a transister radio (along with about half of the others at the game for a great sterio effect). Good memories. Apologies to Duke for hijacking his thread.
