I would say $500-600 as a guesstimate, depending on location. Not sure what they go for in your part of the country.

Unfortunately, there is not enough info to go on. Condition, box & papers, original stocks, function etc. A tool could be search like guns that actually SOLD FOR on G.B. for an idea. Bob

I recently got a 3" round butt as you describe for $700 shipped.
I bid against several other people to get it.

PS - there is a 65-5 on GB right now at $700 with reserve not met and a BIN of $1000.
Rubber Pach's and normal wear.
I'd take a -3 over a -5.

I got what I think was an excellent deal on GB just about two weeks, $503 delivered, 65-5, rubber grips and no box. I may have just got lucky on a no reserve bid.

I watched numerous similar 65s go for for one and two hundred more than that.

I know it is not the same gun but I have a 65-2 4" that I bought for $500 about 6 months ago, now I need to sell it and am only getting offers for it at around $400. Revolvers are not that sought after where I live.

I got the same question, was that a 3" barrel?

I gave $750.00 for these two S&W 65-3 revolvers back in June. No original stocks, boxes or papers. Both had pitting under the stocks and on the hammer. They were tight and shot well.

You can spend that much on a better looking gun but then would you carry it?

I would have done that same deal in heart beat. Your pics definitely define "pitting" Holly Heifer's!! Have you looked in those holes to see if anything is hiding in them??? LOL hardcase60

The hammers were actually more "etched" than "pitted"; only a few spots on either hammer would snag a dental pick. The frame pits were deeper but nothing a guy couldn't live with.

Last year I bought a 3" 65-5 with box and papers in like new condition. And sold a 3" 65-3 with some wear about 90% for the same price. $650. FWIW

Probably no more than $500 for the 65-3 as described. Keep an eye on gunbroker. I just snagged a nice 65-2 with combat grips, no box/papers, for $455 shipped. Deals are out there, just have to be vigilant.

Here we go again .... we are talking about THREE INCH barrels.
We don't care if you got a 4" for under $500.The last two completed listings on GB for 3" 65-2'S sold for over $900.

Hardcase,...my bad,..65-5 3" for $490 and delivered with shipping, $503. I revised my post above. I may hav gotten lucky with the deal,..or at least what it jinn is a good deal. It has few small scratches but I've put about 300 rounds down range so far and I love it. Functions like a dream.
