Advice on what to pay for 10-8
HI all, after buying my 27-2 and then my model 51 in .22 mag I think I found the last piece to my little collection. I'm looking at buying a "collectors" grade model 10-8 4" heavy barrel in nickle with pinned barrel original box with all original papers unused rod and swab. I emailed the seller on GB and he said he would come down to 590 from his 650 list price shipped to me in nj, is this a good deal? I just spend a ton of money lately on new guns and I need to watch the check book LOL
THANKS
Mike

I'd do it if I already didn't own a Model 10-8. But I really like to shoot mine.

Really that's decent? From other guns on GB (which aren't a heavy barrel nor has the box) they are auctioning at 400-450

10-8
I think that's not a bad price. I paid $500 for mine without a box.
Also it seems there are less nickel guns in the late 70/80s.
Mine shoots really well. You will enjoy it.

I would say no...
...but 'collectors grade' probably makes it worth that. Otherwise I'd look at around $450 for a mod 10-8

Sounds like a fair price to me but I am an extremely poor advisor as I do get quiet emotional when I see a gun I want .My local gun guy always laughs and says man I could really burn you a new one if I didn't like you because you don't even try to pretend you might not want to buy something you pick up . He says please let me do the talking if I go to a gun show with him lol and he's right but it sounds like a fair price for what my 2 cents is worth heck I'll just make it 6 cents to be fair to you .

It is a "high but don't feel guilty about paying it" price.
"I think I found the last piece to my little collection".
Yes, that's what we all said . Enjoy!

Mike:
As others have indicated, at $590.00 it's a decent, but not a great price for what he is offering. Used gun prices tend to be highly regionalized. What sells for one price in one area of the country can vary quite a bit from another region or area. In my opinion, if it were offered to me I'd offer $500.00 cash, OTD and hope to buy it closer to $550.00 OTD. Of course, I'm a notorious cheapskate, but a package as you have described would definitely have my interest. If you really want it, don't let a few bucks stand in your way - assuming it checks out as the seller describes it. For instance, look carefully at the box and ensure the label marries up to the revolver (serial number, barrel length, etc.). If it doesn't, the "collector grade" label, and premium price are somewhat unjustified - n'est-ce pas ?
Best of luck,
Dave

That'd be a little high around these parts, not way high, but those nickel finishes, if factory, are hard to predict. The people that like 'em really like 'em. If you're happy, go ahead . . .

Jist checked all the photos again, box matches in all specs to the gun so it's a real factory nickle heavy barrel 4" gun. Box matches and all paper work matches, and gun is marked collectors grade with perfect finish etc

If you really want it I wouldn't let 30 bucks break the deal.
