Wink My old friend 19-3

Got my 19-3 6" back from Frank Glenn this week. He fixed the endshake, added an internal trigger stop, crane lock, re-cut the forcing cone and back cut the cylinders. Work was outstanding and less than I thought. Shipped it back within a couple days.

Back story on what is referred to around here as "The 19".

My high school buddy bought this brand new in 1977 and had the LGS do an action job on it. Decided he wanted to sell it so I bought it. Pulled it down and replaced the cut rebound spring and re set the mainspring screw correctly. Added a Bomar 6" rib and drilled it for a 3 dot sight . Went thru the action again and started competing in target and action shoots in 1980. Served me well for the 5 years I competed.

In 1991, my wife and I were buying a new house, so it was sold to one of my shooting buddies I grew up with under the stipulation that if he ever wanted to get rid of it, call me first.

2006, called him to see if he would sell it back and he said it was gone. After I called him every name in the book and threatened his life. He said he would try to find it.

Long story short, guy he sold it to moved 50 miles away so my buddy, found him, drove to his house and gave him $500.00 cash to buy it back. ( He sold it to him for $350.00 in 2001)

I was thrilled and got it back with only a small rub mark on the barrel and another cut rebound spring. Bought my buddy a steak dinner and took my old pal home.

Went thru the action again, replaced the rebound spring, polished the hammer and trigger and added some Houge mono grips.

I have used this gun to teach 20+ kids and adults to shoot and gun safety over the last 10 years. The old boy was getting a bit tired so I sent it to Frank.

Here it is today.

Promised it to my son, but I might just have this buried with me.

Nice looking gun.
Glad you able to get it back after a long hiatus.
I'm guessing there'll be no more selling of guns
