Congrats on the nice find. You will enjoy that and by the way, welcome to the forum. Have you ever ran into Ed Masaki, Bullseye pistolsmith, there on Ohau? He used to shoot at the range at Diamondhead.

Hawaii shooters
Ed Masaki is still around. There is only on public shooting range
called Koko Head Shooting complex near Hanauma Bay and
Halona Blow Hole.
My group shoots on Sundays, mostly older Black powder cartridge guns.
Between myself and a neighbor we two have about 20 English
double rifles we shoot at steel gongs placed at 100 yards.

A 4" Kit Gun for $300? Yeah, I'd say you did well!

Looks to be in very good shape and what a steal at that price.

Did you kiss him when you only paid $300? Got that one for less than half price! Just great guns, but be sure to keep the chambers clean or they often get sticky ejecting empty brass.

Welcome to the Forum from Virginia.
That is a heck of a buy! I paid a lot more than that for my 34-1 which the whole family enjoys shooting paper, plinking, etc.(who doesn't like a 22 wheel gun? ).
If you get a chance sometime, please post a pic of your new acquisition with the stocks off. I am simply curious because it appears to be wearing factory grips for the square butt, and mine was too, but when I took them off I found the frame is actually round butt, and the grips are supposedly factory original "conversions" but like you, I bought the gun with no docs or box and haven't found it worth a letter at this point. Mine is serial M 51XXX and yours has M six digits, so they may be many years apart (mine is circa 1972 per SCSW 4th) but I am curious about the grips.
Again.........you did a terrific deal on a fine shooter.

Not to get corny, but I really think that folks who live in HI and AK have more of a sense of camaraderie because they are isolated from the rest of the general population so they take care of each other a lot better and the profit motivation is not as strong. Generally speaking, the rest of us are not as willing to take a loss or break even when doing transactions.

Wow, great snag, you are going to like that little beastie! I found mine in nickle early last year and whilst not as easy to shoot as my K-22's and M-17's it will shoot right with em off the bench. Enjoy that one!

Welcome to the forum. You should have at least bought the seller dinner or taken flowers to the transaction. Some folks who do things like that to other people have trouble sleeping at night. All kidding aside that is an ultra sweet deal on that revolver. I would have sprained my wrist getting out my money clip. best regards, hardcase60

Mine is a 4" square butt, SN M1000XX, bought new in 1978. Target trigger added at the service center in Springfield. The accessory target grips are interesting, fitting both RB (M36-1) & SB. Original trigger & service stocks retained.
The lady needs a photo shoot...
