Smile New to me 10-5

I just traded off my last plastic pistol for a 10-5 (2D35XXX) 2in. I'm a happy camper!

I purchased a Model 10-5, 4 inch, "pencil" barrel three years ago. It was a police trade-in. Of all my revolvers, it has the smoothest action.

You will enjoy yours no doubt.

Congratulations! I traded off my last plastic in March for a 686-6 Pro-Series, 5".
You should really enjoy your 10-5 snub. Mine from 1974. I never thought I could shoot as well with 2". Bob

Funny you mention that. I've a new to me 10-8 that I've yet to shoot. But today at my desk I was squeezing off double action and couldn't believe how still the revolver stayed...so smooth. Might play hooky this week and get to the range over lunch.

Here's my 10-5 on the left.
My 10-6 4" on the right.
Joe Friday carried the 2". It must be ok.

Congrats, it's a great gun. Models 10 are underappreciated by many but they are my favorite all around Smith. Getting harder and harder to find in minty condition as most were workhorses. I'm fortunate to have a blue and nickel of the -5, 6 and 7. Only have a blue 10-8 as the nickel -8 continues to allude me. Careful, once you shoot it, you'll be looking to add more to your collection.

Default One of the best guns I ever had....

....beautiful build and quality. Action silky smooth. But at the time I couldn't shoot snubs worth a durn. I can shoot snubs now and I wish I hadn't sold it. But my 'L' frame 686 kind of makes up for it.

I have a really cherry nickeled Model 10-5 snubby - box, papers and all. This one dates from December, 1977. What's not to like? It looks great, give you 6 shots of +P, is concealable, smooth action and it works every time.

Model 10s are very much loved by S&W aficionados as well as many other people who live in the real world of self defense. I just wish S&W would make Model 10 snubbies again.

Not that I need one.....

Hmmmm....One of those pictures is a duplicate. Annoying how I missed that.

Anyway, I do LOVE K frame snubbies!!!! So will you!

If a Model 10 snubby was good enough for Jack Webb as Joe Friday in "Dragnet," then it should be good enough for most anybody!

I would rather have that 10-5 snubby over a semi auto any day. I have really gotten partial to revolvers over the past few years. My main carry is a 44spl. Bulldog. I would like it to be a S&W but they are quite a bit more expensive.
The post war M&P and the model 10 are very good guns.

The fact that I don't have one has been troublesome. So I fixed it - picking this one up tomorrow. New to me 10-5
