Adjustable Sight Model 60
Good condition just needs a cleaning.
What is a fair offer for this?

This is one of the limited run model 60-1s from about 1985. Billy may be slightly optimistic at $400, many of these go for $2-300 higher.

If in in excellent to new condition, offer $450. You may need to go to $600, esp. if it has box, tools, and papers.
Those things aren't in profusion.Better buy one if you find it.
I think one would fit a holster made for a two- inch Kit Gun .22.

I sold one here on the forum several years ago with box, docs, and tools for $700 plus shipping. There aren't a lot of them.

I would be surprised to see the gun itself (in the excellent condition it appears to be in) go for much under $600 around here, maybe more. Of course, you could get lucky and find a screaming deal, but these things are rare enough to command quite a premium. YMMV, of course.

I ordered one of those when I had a FFL in the 1980's. If memory serves, it was a limited run by Ashland Distributors.
I believe there were between 650 and 700 of them in the run.
Unfortunately, I sold mine to raise funds for a new house, but would love to find another.
Today, I have a 3" full-lug version w/ target sights and it will not be sold as long as I am breathing on my own. This model may have been a regular S&W item.........not certain. It is stamped 60-4.
Y'all be good, Bo

I bought one from Ashland shooting supply in 1985. It was marketed as a run of 5000.

I believe the production run was 660, IIRC.

$400! I can not find a fixed sight for that amount. To the OP, is this a sale or make an offer type of deal? Mike

You guys saying $200-$300 and $400 are lining in a dream! The very few of those I've seen couldn't have been touched for under $650 - $700.

I agree. I don't see any Mod 60's for under $400.

I ordered (from Ashland) and sold several of those as a back-pocket FFL in the '80's. They were just sort of a curiosity then. Trying to remember dealer cost, probably around $220-ish? not sure.
