Default 14-4 Target Masterpeice

I have recently acquired a 14-4 Target Masterpiece that belonged to my father in law. I do not know much about it. Serial # 19K9741 Any information would be greatly appreciated.

1977 time frame; 10K0001-24K9999.

Should be a sweet shooter. Here is a 14-3 I just acquired and it shoots just fine.

"I have recently acquired a 14-4 Target Masterpiece..." S&W called the K-series target revolvers (K-22, K-32, and K-38) simply "Masterpieces." Very few were not 6", but there were also "Combat Masterpieces" usually having 4" barrels. The Model 15 was the Combat Masterpiece counterpart of the Model 14 Masterpiece.

Good to information. When you refer to the K 22 K32 K38 is that the caliber on a K frame?

Yes, a K-22 is a .22, a K-32 is .32 S&W Long, and a K-38 is .38 S&W Special. All on K-frames.

Well you have a good start Molen79. Be careful with the K frames as they are like the Greek Sirens.

A K Masterpiece with the wide hammer and trigger (.500") would sometimes be referred to on the box label as a Target gun, but they were not officially referred to as such as Target Masterpieces. No confusion there .

Should you want to advance to the next stage of your addiction (uh, collection):

Also, the books Smith & Wesson 1857-1945 by Neal and Jinks, and History of Smith & Wesson by Jinks. Happy hunting!
